Well what...
Today we've been discussing on educational matters and the advantages of blogs in educational process. I've actually had some mistrusting thoughts on relying only or mostly on computers and internet in modern education because I still think the teacher-student liaison is of great importance not only for the learning but for the personality forming process as well. I do not think so any more... it was just another manifestation of my innate initial scepticism towards everything... after I've counted to 10 I've realized that computer is not going (or at least so far) to replace the teacher-student liasion but it could only be of a great assistasnce... anyway, normal people change, me too ;)
I've always known blogs exist and I've always known they were a kind of diaries where people share thoughts and oppinions... and I've always kept this secret far away from my dissertation chairperson ;) My dissertation is on Self-concept Dynamics in Specific Environments of Communication this means Internet and Virtual Self, or in other words the Self that went on virtualising himself/herself. So far I am surveying MUDs, chats and forums and how a person represents him/herself to others in the Virtual reality but blogs are another story - there a person is supposed to have a picture (if real) so this lives him no room enough for experiments with identity. Anyway if being real blogs are a simple reflection of the true identity... But if not...
I am confused... this means I'd have to put some more sentences (there are a few so far) about blogs in my dissertation... may be some research...
My head is a mess... I am in a desperate need of a beach!!! Is there any there!?

Hi Nikolay,
This was a Great reflection.
I’m glad that you have changed your opinion about computers and student-teacher liaison.
Have you ever try to get in “Second life” site:
https://secure-web6.secondlife.com
I think that will be a good place for exploring “how a person represents him/herself to others in the Virtual reality”.
And about blogs… yes you can add something for them in your dissertation!
Talk to you soon,
Vasko
Hi there... I can see that you have worked in this blog, and i think that it is a great experience for all of us to learn how we can use those programs in the education process... Great job!
I don`t think that we should trust to Internet complitely. Its a huge space of anonymity and fake personal information, so we always must be cautious about it. Like fire - it can bring lots of good and also lots of damage and sufferings, so lets stay enthusiastic but not audacious!
well, it is really interesting to dig into this problem of going virtual... I have a friend of mine who has at least 3 (or so I know) different profiles with 3 different nick-names and some times she converses with her self in a forum we both write in... she claims she does this only for fun and perhaps it is so, but there are people who do not just use computers and internet for communication and information, ones seems to live there to make virtual friends, to spend lots of time in MUDs and evein in this Second Life Vasko mentioned... By the way I've seen it and it is a really weird place - you should go and take a look for yourselves... But do not go too virtual!
I know so many kids, who doean`t have friends, because they spend most of the time on Internet. I think this situation also shows one hidden problem - pariental responsibility. Very often it ends at the feeding and dressing their kids, without getting involved in their offsprings lives. I believe that lots of threath that come from Internet could be prevented if parients would get more involved.
