We went to a concert last night, for there is a Balkan music and dance festival here in Ohrid. The performers were dancers from Resen, Macedonia; singers from Sofia, Bulgaria and an ensemble from Bar, Montenegro. Montenegrins were those who stayed the most on the stage and they have been given the most of applauses... It was funny, Macedonians and Bulgarians were performing traditional folklore and Montenegrins performed some kind of "soft turbo-folk" - songs that you usualy enjoy being on a table trying to get drunk and forget the troubles you have. In two words: false singing through bad microfones... That made me think of the adequacy of the performance of the actor to the needs of the audience... Goffman again... so no matter how "arty" you are, no matter how hard you try to dance (Macedonians were great and hypnotizing), no matter how correct you sing (as a Bulgarian I have lestened to many professional and well trained singers but those young people were really magnificent), the public needs what it needs...
Now for the day... Bill's public needed more on RSS and netvibes, so Bill gave it what it needed. Now I know what RSS is for so netvibes is waiting for me to put some stuff on... Then it came the turn of Wikipedia to get into the focus of our attention. The Wiki is something I know and I've written there some infos about my home city and the villages my parents are from...
No beach today!!!
Hey, I was kiddin' ;)

Heey Nikolay, I like your blog and nice to meet you, i read your post, and you have information for everyday what were you doing interesting.
I just want to hear your opinion for blogs and netvibes using in primary school, how can we use them in our classroom. I would be glad to hear you oppinion about this.
Have a nice weekend and enjoy at ISUM.
Your friend, Adisa
well, I actually think that everything should be in accordance with the audience - if you think your students are ready and well prepared to use www - so go on! but in our region not every kid has it's own computer and internet so it is - in my oppinion - too early to put internet into practice at these grades in school
smiles,
me
RSS is a magical signal like a string that connects two children. When one end is updated (the end with the fun and beautiful information that you normally have to go to the site to find) the RSS magical string feeds the information to your netvibes or other feed 'reader' so you only have to go to one place to see a collection of all of those magical strings in one place.
RSS is a mystery to me too! :)
I like your style of writing. I hope that you will start to see more resources in Bulgarian. Perhaps you should share your comments with somebody at Google?
Enjoy the remainder of your course.
I still don`t understand, why we must "computerize" kids from primary school level. Probably, it will happen naturaly anyway. As you said, there are many places, where kids don`t have PC at home, and therefore they are safe. :) Let kid be a kid, not some computer freak. It is so interesting for children to work with hands, with paper and glue and make something that they can put on the wall of classroom. Yes, we must teach children, how to use technologies, but we cannot take away, through doing that, all the nice things only because www is cool! Thats my believe!!!
Laura you're right! Of course we can not allow us to create some cyborgs of our kids, but we could just help them use the potential the machine gives us better than we use it today!
Cool to have you!
Hello Laura and Nikolay, I like your discusion so I would like to share my opinion about it..
I think we can use internet,blogs.. in our classroom. We can work with blogs as a teachers when they are small after that we can involve the children, when they are 9-10 years old. They are more in ( big )then, the new generation is verry interest in Internet( in Skopje ) They are so happy, when they are on the computers, like they are listenig music,drawing,singing.. :) We have a practice, in the school through Skopje, and the children are this 3,4,5 grade very smart and very interest in. But the problem is financialy, is true that every child can not have a computer at home , but our govermant is working on it to computearize the education.. It is realized, but the teacher haven't got good preparation, only our new generation ( EKTS ).. They are prepared, but this is course is something that is realy great experience for our profesion, I am lucky to be here. So my comment is a biggy one but hope you will understand what I want to say...
Take care,enjou :)
well, this reminds me of a graffity I once saw: "There're no impossible things but just incompetent people" - go on and make your little everyday wonders making your students better and better every single day!
